FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Clear, transparent answers to practical questions on freight rates, container bookings, Pakistan customs procedures, transit schedules, and quote requests.

To provide you the fastest, most competitive freight quote, our team requires: (1) Origin and destination points (port-to-port or door-to-door), (2) Mode of transport preferred (Ocean FCL/LCL, Air, or Multimodal), (3) Cargo description, HS code, and whether goods are hazardous/temperature-controlled, (4) Total gross weight (kg) and dimensions/volume (CBM), and (5) Intended Incoterm (e.g. FOB, CIF, EXW, DAP).

FCL (Full Container Load) means an entire shipping container (20ft or 40ft) is booked exclusively for your cargo. It offers the fastest transit times, direct seal integrity, and minimal handling. LCL (Less than Container Load) allows smaller cargo volumes to share container space with other shippers, paying only for the specific cubic meters (CBM) or metric tons utilized. TransBridge manages dedicated direct LCL consolidations between Karachi and major global ports.

TransBridge operates licensed in-house customs brokerage teams directly stationed at Karachi Port (East/West Wharves, KICT, SAPT) and Port Qasim (QICT). We prepare and electronically lodge your Goods Declaration (GD) via Pakistan Single Window (PSW) and WeBOC, coordinate with statutory regulatory agencies (DPP, PSQCA, FBR), attend customs physical examination/scanning, and secure release without unnecessary demurrage delays.

Yes. We provide complete intermodal and bonded road haulage services from Karachi and Port Qasim to all upcountry dry ports—including Lahore (Prem Nagar and Mughalpura), Faisalabad, Sialkot, Multan, and Islamabad—as well as direct factory delivery under Transshipment Permit (TP) or post-clearance domestic transport.

Shipping lines grant a defined number of "free days" (standard 5 to 7 days, or 14 to 21 days when negotiated by TransBridge) for containers to be cleared and returned empty to the carrier's depot. Demurrage accrues when containers remain inside the port terminal past the port free period. Detention accrues when containers remain in the consignee's possession outside the port past the shipping line's allotted free days. Our operations team works proactively to ensure swift turnaround.

Yes. TransBridge specializes in complex project cargo engineering, including heavy transformers, energy turbines, industrial manufacturing machinery, and structural steel.
